In order to participate in the McEwen Centre for Regenerative Medicine’s Stem Cell City Race ("City Race") each participant on the team consisting of five (5) participants must be 18 years or older. In addition, teams must fundraise a minimum of $20,000 (or $4,000 each) in order to participate in the City Race.
In order to participate, each team member(s) must have signed the City Race's official waiver or fully accepted and agreed to such during the online sign-up process.
Just prior to departure from the Brunch, teams will be provided with a set of Route Instructions to arrive at the first destination. These instructions must be followed in order to complete the City Race. At each subsequent City Race location (Pit Stop), additional instructions will be provided.
Obey the laws of the City of Toronto throughout the race.
Competitors judged by the Race officials to be guilty of any of the following offenses shall be automatically disqualified:
- Being intoxicated.
- Consuming alcoholic beverages before or while participating.
- Dangerous or reckless behaviour including driving. This event is NOT a race. Any moving violation citation or written warning received by a participant, or any excessive speed or unsafe driving observed by Race officials, is grounds for total disqualification.
- Being at fault in an accident.
- Unsportsmanlike conduct.
Each team will be given an official score for each Pit Stop completed. No alterations of information will be tolerated, subject to disqualification. Errors will be corrected by Race officials only.
In the Event of a Tie
After scoring has been completed, it is possible that two or more teams could have the same score. If this should happen, the Race officials will execute a random draw from all qualifying tied participants, selecting one team as the winner. All decisions of the Race officials are final.
We guarantee that each team has the same opportunity to score the same amount of points as other teams.
All Pit Stops for the City Race, including the Finish Line, will be indicated by signage. Pit Stops will close 30 minutes after the last team to arrive has arrived. All participants entering a Pit Stop location voluntarily assume all risks and dangers incidental to any of those locations. Each Pit Stop location has its own set of rules and code of conduct. Each participant is required to abide by each location's rules. Smoking is not permitted at any City Race location unless otherwise specified.
